COVID-19 AND THE IMMUNE SYSTEM: BOOST YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM AND PROTECT YOURSELF FROM BEING INFECTED WITH THE VIRUS.

The immune system differentiates self from non-self and protects the body from foreign substances by producing an immune response.

A significant way to boost the immune system is by taking in Vitamin C enriched foods (fruits and vegetables).

When these foods notice a foreign substance (in this case, virus) in the body, they penetrate through the cell membrane of the virus to render it weak and impotent and make it harmless to the body.

This is a vivid reason why Vitamin C tablets are prescribed for a person who catches cold or coughs.

Vitamin C is mostly found in fruits and vegetables.

Some of these Vitamin C enriched fruits include: orange, tangerine, lemon, grapes, pineapple, apple (a considerable quantity).

Some of the Vitamin C enriched vegetables also include: green pepper, cabbage (it is advisable not to be consumed fresh. It, at least, should be steamed over boiling water for some time), fresh pepper (immediately it is boiled, it reduces its nutrient content).

Tiger nuts are also massively enriched in Vitamin C.

NOTE:

¶ With the fresh pepper, too many of it should not be taken; instead, a reasonable amount of it (at least two (2)). If many of it is consumed, it becomes a stimulant. The stimulation triggers watery substance from within the eyes and nose. This becomes dangerous to the body.

¶ With the tiger nuts, it is better if the liquid substance after chewing is swallowed, as the liquid contains the needed Vitamin C. It is therefore advisable to make the chewing process last longer in order to consume almost or absolutely all the liquid content. The solid substance after the chewing could optionally be swallowed too as it contains fibre which aids in controlling constipation.

A research also revealed that the organisms found moving around tiger nuts defeated some bacteria such as staphylococci and e-coli when they were brought into contact.

Therefore, if tiger nuts are mostly consumed, it helps protect the body from most bacterial attacks. This strengthens the immune system of the body.

Aside Vitamin C, Vitamin A is also very essential in boosting the immune system by rendering foreign substances (viruses in this case) that enter the body weak and powerless.

Vitamin A is mostly obtained from the brightly coloured foods like: carrot, mango, spinach (kontomire).

These foods help to strengthen the immune organs such as the thymus, spleen and lymph nodes; and makes them properly functional.

Again, zinc also helps the immune system functionally. Zinc prevents the body from 'rust'. This basically means it prevents the body from encountering certain diseases and infections and other complications also.

Oat (Yes! the oat we all know) is rich in zinc which strengthens the immune system (NB: For the men, I also discovered through studies that the natural way to increase your sperm count and thickness of spermatozoa is by taking oat. [Laughs])

Again, vegetables from the onion family such as garlic and onion itself contain Sulphur compounds which help fight viral infections such as cold and coughs. They also aid in fighting organisms that attack the respiratory organs and of course, COVID-19 is revealed to be more of a respiratory disease.

The onion and garlic could be added to diets or eaten raw.

In conclusion:

All the vegetables mentioned should not be over boiled or even boiled at all as it will reduce the nutrient content in them.
